BS25999
The client is a leading provider of fulfilment, mailing and handling services for a wide range of blue chip clients, operating from two sites in the East of England with a workforce of over 300 employees. They already held ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and wished to be the first company in their sector to achieve certification to BS25999.
As the client had no previously established BCM system, Cambridge Risk Solutions worked with them to develop one that was fully integrated with their existing management systems. A detailed Business Impact Analysis and Risk Assessment helped with the development of their strategy and plans, with an emphasis on straight-forward and user-friendly documentation that the client would be able to take forward and manage themselves. Particular consideration was paid to company culture in the development of an effective embedding campaign, noting the diversity of the workforce, particularly language constraints, and the need for different communication techniques for office and warehouse-based staff. The 6-month project concluded with a desktop exercise for the client’s Incident Management teams.
At that stage Cambridge Risk Solutions stepped back to allow the client to take full control of their BCM system in preparation for audit. We are delighted to report that they sailed through both Stage I and Stage II of the assessment and are now the well-deserved holders of BS25999 certification.
